Reactions As Tinubu/Shettima Cards For Free Transportation For Holders Surfaces Online Reactions have trailed an alleged program by the Tinubu/Shettima group aimed to provide free transportation to Nigerians. As the 2023 presidential campaign is about to start, a card with some campaign words with photos and names of the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Ahmed Tinubu, and his running mate, Shettima, seen on it, has been trending online. The card, which is noted to entitle the holder to a free ride to their destination, is reported to help Nigerians address transportation challenges in the country. However, some Nigerians have reacted to this development as some asked if such moves weren't a means of vote buying and noted that such packages were just to serve a temporary purpose before the election, while others are also asking how they could get the card and use it till the election time to save some money. Strike: Why FG made U-turn on reopening of universities Facts have emerged on why the Federal Government reversed itself on the decision to reopen public universities despite the ongoing strike by members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU. “After the circular became public and people started interpreting what the consequences could be, it was agreed that the circular is withdrawn to also allow for more negotiation between the government and the union,” a source told Vanguard Newspaper. The Acting Director of Public Affairs, the National Universities Commission, Mr Ayo Haruna, confirmed to Vanguard the withdrawal of the circular dated September 23, this year. The latest circular calling for the nullification of the previous one was dated September 26, 2022, and signed by the same person, Mr Sam Onazi, the Director of Finance and Accounts, NUC. The Director–General of the Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency (OYSADA) and Executive Adviser to Governor ‘Seyi Makinde on Agribusiness, Dr Debo Akande revealed this after attending the recently held Dutch-organised mission on diary development and investment plan for Nigeria in the Netherlands, as the Friesland Campina-sponsored representative of the Oyo State government. Source Reveals The Three Questions That Northern Christian Leaders Asked Tinubu During Their Meeting Fresh revelations have emerged following a meeting which was held last Thursday between the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Bola Tinubu, and Arewa Church leaders under the aegis of Pentecostal Bishops Forum of Northern Nigeria.  According to an insider who spoke with Vanguard, that meeting was the first time that the Pentecostal bishops were meting with Tinubu to talk about the Muslim/Muslim Ticket of the APC.  During the meeting, the source revealed that they asked Tinubu three important questions, one of which was a question asking him to clarify a comment made by his running mate. Nigerian ladies storm Queen Elizabeth's burial in the UK dressed in their Asoebi clothes (Photos) A group of Nigerian ladies stormed the burial of late Queen Elizabeth II dressed in their flowing Asoebi clothes. Following the unfortunate demise of the queen, Nigerians all over the world have continued to show their love for her. Her burial was recently held in London and some Nigerian women represented well in their beautiful native dresses. Dele Momodu, who shared the photos online, said the fabrics were sent all the way from Lagos to London in time for the late queen's burial. His caption read: "It started as a joke and one of us took it seriously. The outfits were turned around in four days and delivered from Lagos to London the day before the event. Seven Injured as Hotel Under Construction Collapses in Ibadan A five storey-building under construction has reportedly collapsed in the early hours of Thursday, in Ibadan. According to Punch Newspaper, the building which was said to be a hotel, caved in at Awosika area, Ibadan North Local Government, Oyo State. In the meantime, seven injured persons were said to have been rescued from the rubble of the building, however it could not be ascertained if no life was lost in the incident. Rescue party which consists men of the State Fire Service, the Federal Road Safety Commission and other security agencies have been deployed to the scene. NSCDC Officer Assaults Fresh FM Owner, Ayefele, Threatens to Shoot Him Some residents of Ekiti State have condemned the physical assault on a popular Nigerian gospel singer, Mr Yinka Ayefele by an operative of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC). According to reliable sources in Ado-Ekiti, the security agent also threatened to shoot the Ipoti-Ekiti born singer, after resisting his forceful attempt to take money from Ayefele’s car.
