There Is No Going Back On Copyright Lawsuit Against Tiwa Savage – Danny Young Blows Hot Nigerian musician, Ajibola Danladi, aka Danny Young, has said he is not backing down on the N205 million lawsuit he filed against  Tiwa Savage  for copyright infringement, Premium Times reports. The singer filed the suit since February 13. In the suit, labelled FHC/L/CS/230/2019 and pending before Justice Mohammed Liman, Young is claiming N205 million in damages against Tiwa. He said Tiwa allegedly unlawfully copied his (Danny Young’s) 2009 single, Oju Tiwon, in her (Tiwa’s) 2018 single titled, ‘One’. Also joined in the suit is her former record label, Mavin Records, owned by Don Jazzy. Danny Young told PREMIUM TIMES on Thursday that Tiwa and her team have refused to react to the allegation. BREAKING: Ghana Traders Association Close Down Shops Owned By Nigerians On Thursday, October 31st, members of the Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA) shut down shops owned by Nigerians in five markets in Kumasi, the Ashanti Region capital. It was the second time this year the association would shut Nigerian-owned shops, claiming it was waging a war on foreigners doing retail business in the country. GUTA says foreign retailers flout section 27 of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) Act 865, which forbids their involvement in the sale of goods or provision of services in a market, petty trading or hawking or selling of goods in a stall at any place must be reserved for Ghanaians. The law also bans foreigners from operating taxis, beauty salons, selling medicine, production, and sale of sachet water, among others. Court Orders Forfeiture Of 23 Properties Linked To Maina An Abuja Federal High Court on Tuesday ordered a temporary forfeiture of 23 properties linked to Abdulrasheed Maina, former Chairman of Pension Reform Task Team, PRTT. Justice Folashade Ogunbanjo gave the order while ruling on a motion filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, wherein, it prayed the court to order the temporary forfeiture of the properties linked to Maina. EFCC also sought an order of the court to publish an advert on the properties in a national daily, to enable anyone who has any reason why they should not be finally forfeited to the Federal Government to come forward and prove same. The anti-graft agency supported its motion by a 30-paragraph affidavit which it brought pursuant to Section 17 of the Money Laundering Act. For circulating fake news about a married woman said to be involved in trafficking children, the Police in Kano State have arrested the administrator and members of a Whatsapp group.
