Ekiti Election: Helicopter With Money Lands In Government House




A helicopter has just landed at the new Government House, Ayoba Villa, Ado-Ekiti. The chopper landed at the Government House helipad few minutes past noon.
It has been alleged in some quarters the chopper brought cash from a South-south governor. People’s Democratic Party (PDP) members have been trooping to the Government House to collect money.
They have been entering Government House through the small gate at the old Governor’s Office. A female party member was seen complaining that he was not given his own share of the cash.
She said: “They have not been given my own why some have been given twice. “Anyone that collects this money and vote against Eleka shall not live to spend this money."

Beware Of The ‘Kponmo ’ You Buy – NAFDAC Warns The Management of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has alerted the public, especially consumers of animal hides, popularly known as ‘Ponmo’ in local parlance on the activities of some unscrupulous business men and traders who are selling industrial animal hides as food article. A statement issued by NAFDAC’s Director General, Professor Moji Christianah Adeyeye, said as far back as 2015, following intelligence reports, the Agency, through Investigation and Enforcement Directorate, had been successfully dealing with isolated cases of dangerous diversion of animal hides meant for industrial use into the food chain for consumption as local delicacy, Ponmo, saying this practice posed grave danger to public health. BREAKING: Court Orders AGF Malami To ‘Delete’ Section 84 (12) From Electoral Act A Federal High Court sitting in Umuahia, the Abia State capital, has declared Section 84 (12) of the recently signed Electoral Act 2022 a nullity. Justice Evelyn Anyadike, who delivered the judgment, also directed the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, to expunge that section from the Act. The section which requires political appointees seeking elective offices to resign 30 days before election, states that  “No political appointee at any level shall be a voting delegate or be voted for at the Convention or Congress of any political party for the purpose of the nomination of candidates for any election.” Meanwhile, before any section of the Electoral Act can be tampered with, the Act has to go through a legislative process and return to the president for fresh assent.
