BREAKING NEWS! Sunday Igboho Finally Regains Freedom ,after 8 Months.


Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo who is popularly known as Sunday Igboho has been reportedly freed from the custody of Benin authorities after 8 months behind bars.

You would recall that Igboho, a campaigner for Yoruba self-determination, was arrested in neighbouring Cotonou, Benin Republic while trying to travel to Germany.

Maxwell Adeleye, a spokesman for Sunday Igboho revealed on Facebook on Monday.

The Statement on Facebook read: “Yoruba Nation Activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, fondly called Sunday Ighoho, has been released by the Government of Republic of Benin.

“The Activist was released on Monday to a Yoruba Leader and Leader of the Umbrella body of Yoruba Self-determination Groups, Ilana Omo Oodua Worldwide, Professor Banji Akintoye, and a French Language Expert/ Deputy Alana of Ilana Omo Oodua Worldwide, Professor Wale Adeniran.”

The release was described as ” as a triumph of truth over darkness in Yoruba Land.

BREAKING: Court Orders AGF Malami To ‘Delete’ Section 84 (12) From Electoral Act A Federal High Court sitting in Umuahia, the Abia State capital, has declared Section 84 (12) of the recently signed Electoral Act 2022 a nullity. Justice Evelyn Anyadike, who delivered the judgment, also directed the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, to expunge that section from the Act. The section which requires political appointees seeking elective offices to resign 30 days before election, states that  “No political appointee at any level shall be a voting delegate or be voted for at the Convention or Congress of any political party for the purpose of the nomination of candidates for any election.” Meanwhile, before any section of the Electoral Act can be tampered with, the Act has to go through a legislative process and return to the president for fresh assent.
