Reasons Why Bola Tinubu May Step Down To Make Way For Osinbajo In The 2023 Presidential Election.
Many people have expressed their opinions on Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the former governor of Lagos State and the National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) since he announced his intention to run for president in 2023.
On the other hand, some people are attempting to get Nigeria's current vice president, Yemi Osibanjo, into the presidential campaign because they believe he has the ability and experience to lead the country to greater heights.
Apart from that, despite the fact that he has never proclaimed his intention to run for president, several northern and southern politicians have sponsored Yemi Osibanjo.
Why would Bola Ahmed Tinubu resign in the presidential election of 2023 to make space for Yemi Osinbajo?
Firstly, Yemi Osibanjo has greater support and recognition from northern and southern leaders than Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Let us recall that Ibrahim Babangida, Nigeria's former president, publicly selected Yemi Osinbajo as the country's next president a few weeks ago.
Also, we must remember that Edwin Clark, the leader of the Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF, followed the trend when he nominated Yemi Osibanjo as one of their favored politicians. This could force Bola Tinubu to resign and team up with Osinbajo to become the next president.
Apart from that, Yemi Osinbajo's younger age may have prompted the APC to approach Tinubu about stepping down for Osinbajo, allowing the party to remain the dominant party since a young president is currently a popular desire in the country.
